Taskforce Overview
The Taskforce is a 13-year old performance-oriented consortium of industry, academic and governmental organizations collaborating to define the effects of Intangible Assets - Intellectual Property, Intellectual Capital and Human Capital on the United States' technological and economic growth at the corporate, national and international levels of competitive performance that are essential to America's freedom and prosperity.
Economic opportunity requires robust innovation that transforms knowledge to net worth and a capability to realize the American dream in every entrepreneur's heart; and, to project economic influence in geo-political situations that support our national security.
Some of the notable participants include: UN, Department of Economic & Social Affairs, U.S. Departments of Commerce and Defense, SEC, NASA, National Technology Transfer Center, States of California and North Carolina, MIT, Stanford, SMU, GWU, Texas A&M, Kozmetsky Foundation, Texas Instruments, GE, Ford, Cisco Systems, Freddie Mac, American Express, IBM, Motorola, AT&T, SAIC, Telcordia Technologies, Kodak and approximately some 74 other operations.
Sandall & Walton Named Taskforce Fellows
The Taskforce has engaged Assistant Professors Darrel Sandall, Ph.D. and Abram Walton, Ph.D. to support its research into corporate IP performance. The two members of the Purdue faculty bring strong experience in the areas of research, publication, education, and executive and organization development that is the central focus of the Taskforce work to build corporate IP operational capabilities.
Dr. Sandall first became involved with the Taskforce in 1999 while with SkillsNET Corporation and developed many of the performance standards for the U.S. Department of Navy. He is on the tenure track in the University’s Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation where his research focuses on the impact of technology innovation in the workplace.
Dr. Walton is also a part of the Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation and a “deep talent” who, in addition to being an Associated Editor of the International Journal of Innovation Science, has distinguished himself in his work at the University’s Product Lifecycle Management Center of Excellence and the Center for Advanced Manufacturing.
New IP Leadership Capabilities Support
The Taskforce has drawn for its 12 year action research and community of IP Professionals to develop data on corporate capabilities to facilitate IP business transactions. This unique approach helps the IP Executive identify opportunities to improve his/her company’s revenue generation and competitive competencies.
